Interior Design Masters runner-up Jack Kinsey created a stunning pub design during the final of the BBC competition in Brighton. However, months later, Jack admits he can't bring himself to visit the establishment due to the intense challenge involved. He likens it to experiencing PTSD, as it would force him to relive the "trauma" of the competition.

During the grand finale, Jack and fellow contestant Monika Charchula were tasked with transforming the decor of two different pubs. Jack, who had two floors to work on, described it as a "race against time" to complete the project within three days and on a limited budget. Fortunately, everything came together in the end.

Jack's constellation-inspired concept received high praise from the pub's owner. However, when asked if the pub had kept his design, Jack admitted that he hadn't been back to check. He explains, "I don't know if I can go back because it's like PTSD, because it's like all the trauma and all the stress of it. If I went back now, maybe I would be like, 'I would have done this differently,' and I don't want that. I want it to just be like, 'No, what I did at the time was right.' I can't go; I just don't think I can bring myself to go back."

Upon researching the pub's social media, it appears that Earth & Stars has indeed maintained Jack's sleek finish. They announced on Instagram that they underwent a "lovely face lift" after a temporary closure for a "spruce up."

Although Jack finished as the runner-up, he successfully achieved his aim of giving the pub a "brand new personality" and making it sparkle. Looking back on the final, he learned to embrace the chaos and take bold risks. Throughout the competition, he messaged Monika to check on each other's well-being before focusing on their individual efforts.

Jack's biggest takeaway from Interior Design Masters was the importance of being daring rather than playing it safe. He advises prospective competitors to go big and bold, using the show as a canvas to create impactful designs. Jack's willingness to take risks allowed him to reach the end of the competition, even if he didn't win.

Judge Michelle Ogundehin appreciates designers who are edgy and willing to put themselves out there. She goes into the space to understand the designer on a deeper level. So, Jack encourages contestants to be unafraid of going all out and not holding back.

Since his time on the show, Jack has received numerous requests and opportunities, including designing another pub and a hair salon. He is eager to undertake another significant project for himself, much like the chapel he designed on the program. His dream is to buy a derelict barn or factory and convert it into another magical space.
