Astrology has always fascinated people with its claims of predicting future events and understanding personalities. It incorporates scientific knowledge about heavenly bodies and uses tools like star charts, which may make it appear scientific. However, is astrology truly a scientific method of answering questions?

Astrology is commonly used to generate expectations and explanations for events on Earth and human characteristics. It suggests that the relative positions and movements of heavenly bodies influence our lives. For example, astrology predicts that a person born just after the spring equinox is more likely to become an entrepreneur.

But does astrology use testable ideas? While some expectations are too general to be objectively tested, specific expectations have been generated and examined. According to astrology, one's zodiac sign impacts their ability to command respect and authority. If astrology were accurate, scientists would have zodiac signs described as "favorable" towards science. However, studies examining these claims have not supported astrology's validity.

Moreover, astrology lacks involvement from the scientific community. Practicing astrologers do not present their findings at scientific meetings or publish their work in peer-reviewed journals. This absence of critical evaluation hinders the progress of the field and prevents ongoing research.

Scientists constantly question and modify their ideas based on evidence, but astrology seems resistant to change. It often ignores contradictory evidence and does not rigorously examine its own ideas. This contrasts with the scientific approach, where ideas are tested, challenged, and abandoned if necessary.

So, is astrology science? The scientific community's evaluation suggests otherwise. Despite its scientific trappings, astrology fails to meet the criteria of a scientific method. While it may intrigue and captivate us, astrology does not align with the principles of evidence, testability, and critical evaluation that define scientific inquiry.

Now, it's up to you to decide. Is astrology truly a scientific way to answer questions?
