Co-working spaces have become increasingly popular in recent years, offering businesses a flexible and collaborative working environment. However, many of these spaces lack character and fail to provide a truly enjoyable working experience. That's where SHH Architecture & Interior Design comes in. Their project, "Cohesion," aims to redefine the concept of a co-working office and create a space that fosters unity, harmony, and innovation.

A Fresh Approach to Co-working

Located in the heart of Guangzhou's financial district, Cohesion is set on the top two floors of a 67-story tower. The 43,000 square-foot space offers stunning views of the city, maximizing natural light and creating a vibrant atmosphere. Unlike other serviced office providers in Guangzhou, Cohesion goes beyond functionality and compartmentalization. SHH Architecture & Interior Design identified a gap in the market and set out to introduce a new way of working for the area.

A Shift in Design Philosophy

SHH Architecture & Interior Design took a unique approach to the design of Cohesion. Instead of placing most of the offices near the façade, they shifted the balance and located them deeper into the building. This created more communal spaces around the perimeter, offering better views and access to daylight. The result is an environment that promotes networking, collaboration, and overall well-being.

Embracing the Local Surroundings

One of the standout features of Cohesion is its inspired color palette. Taking cues from the geographical features visible from each side of the building, SHH Architecture & Interior Design created a color-coding device that defines different areas within the space. From Baiyun Mountain to the South China Sea, each quadrant of the building represents a specific theme, creating a visually stunning and cohesive environment.

An Immersive Working Experience

Cohesion offers a range of amenities and spaces that cater to the diverse needs of businesses. From lounges and break-out areas to dedicated meeting rooms and hot desk zones, there is something for everyone. The design incorporates floor-to-ceiling ribbed oak-panelled screens and strategically placed plants, adding privacy and impact to the open-air corporate space.

Connectivity and Collaboration

Connectivity is a key focus throughout the two floors of Cohesion. Level 66 houses the main reception, lounge, and bar area, ideal for informal meetings and collaborative work. It also features formal boardrooms, meeting rooms, printing areas, and hot desk zones. Level 67 offers similar office spaces, with an additional relaxation zone that includes massage facilities and virtual reality experiences. At the southeast corner of the 67th level, a valuable social space with river views can be transformed for large group presentations and networking events.

Creating a Community

Designed by SHH Architecture & Interior Design, Cohesion Guangzhou is not just a co-working space; it is a community. The design fosters networking and collaboration, appealing to businesses that value branding and a sense of belonging. Located in Guangzhou, a major transportation and port hub, Cohesion provides an ideal working environment for companies looking to make their mark in the international business market.
