This is not just another reality show; it's a thrilling adventure into the world of interior design. Interior Design Master has captured the hearts of millions with its creative challenges and talented contestants. In this season, we witnessed the rise of two exceptional designers, Jack and Monika, as they faced their final test.
The Fountains of North Laine: Monika's Pub Transformation
Monika's task was no small feat. The Fountain Head, a pub in desperate need of a rebranding, was her canvas. Her mission was to create a space that would attract a younger crowd and eliminate the intimidating factor. Monika's solution? A daring choice of colors, with a dark slate-blue ceiling and walls. The decorators were thrilled to finally have an easy paint job after weeks of geometric designs. However, their enthusiasm quickly waned when they discovered Monika's plan to paint the chairs a shade of dirty pink. Despite their protests, Monika remained resolute, focused on her vision. And what a vision it was! The stunning copper leafed bar, adorned with a floral wallpaper and a distressed mirror wall, left everyone in awe. Monika's attention to detail and ability to create a captivating atmosphere certainly paid off.
Zodiac Attack: Jack's Cosmic Transformation
For Jack, the challenge was the Earth and Stars pub. This establishment desperately needed a rebranding and a style upgrade. Jack had to consider not only the relaxed bar area but also the gastro-pub restaurant. His solution? A celestial transformation, with a Zodiac theme that would transport guests to another world. His design drew inspiration from the stars, incorporating fantastical illustrations and exquisite upholstery. Some worried that it might resemble a child’s bedroom, but Jack skillfully struck the right balance of sophistication. The gold leaf stars on the ceiling added a touch of magic. The judges, however, found fault with the reversal of spaces, with the restaurant feeling too relaxed and the bar space being too glamorous. Nevertheless, Jack's design was undeniably glamorous, with gold and velvet accents that exuded a neo-Gatsby vibe.
Sofageddon: Monika's Well-Deserved Victory
The decision was controversial, but Monika proved her mettle. Throughout the competition, Jack had been consistently exceptional, while Monika had faced her fair share of criticism. However, the prize was the opportunity to design the interior of a central London cocktail bar. In terms of creating an interesting design for a cocktail bar, Monika's unique style prevailed. Her final pub design showcased her witchcraft-like ability to distress mirrors and her attention to detail. Monika emerged as the Interior Design Master of 2023, deserving every bit of praise.
The reaction to Monika's victory on Twitter may have been unkind to some, but let us remember that winning is no easy feat. Monika's emotional journey throughout the competition should not be disregarded, especially considering her struggle with ADHD. It is essential to focus on the talent and hard work that went into her winning design.
In the end, all the contestants are winners. They have gone on to have successful careers, and the future looks bright for each of them. This season of Interior Design Master has been a captivating and enjoyable journey. Cheers to all the designers for their exceptional work, and congratulations to Monika, the well-deserved champion!
