In feng shui, the Bagua is a powerful tool that helps us create balance and harmony in our living spaces. Whether you have control over the design of your home or not, incorporating the Feng Shui Bagua map can greatly improve the energy flow and overall well-being of your space.

Rotate the Floor Plan So the Door is at the Bottom

Floor plans can be displayed in various ways, but it's important to rotate the plan so that the front door or the house-facing side is at the bottom. This gives you a realistic perspective, as if you're standing right in front of the house about to enter. It allows you to accurately apply the Bagua map to your floor plan.

Use an Accurately Scaled Floor Plan

The scale and size of your floor plan are crucial for accurate bagua mapping. The integrity and quality of the mapping can be compromised if the calculations are incorrect. Ensure that the ratios and dimensions are precise, so you can confidently use the Bagua map on your floor plan.

All Living Spaces Must be Included

When mapping the Bagua, it's important to include all the living areas within the walls of your home. However, spaces like garages, balconies, or patios that are not within the confines of your home should not be included in the map. The walls of your home are what help contain the Chi energy, so if an area is both within the walls and considered a living space, it should be included in the map.

Use Your Home's Facing Direction

Sometimes, the front door may not align with the Feng Shui facing direction of your home. In such cases, rotate the floor plan so that the home's facing direction is at the bottom. This will give you a realistic feel as if you're entering the house from the street. The front door is often referred to as the mouth of Chi, and aligning it correctly ensures positive energy flows into your home.

Using it for Houses and Apartments

The application of the Bagua map differs for houses and apartments. For apartments, align the bottom of the map with the wall where you enter your home. This will place your front door in one of the following areas: career, helpful people, or knowledge/self-cultivation area.

For houses, align the bottom of the map with the wall that corresponds to the home's facing direction (as mentioned in tip #4).

Fix Missing and Extended Areas

If your house is not a perfect square, there may be areas that are larger or smaller compared to others. These are called missing and extended areas. To fix missing areas, amplify the energy of the room by using the Five Elements theory to boost that area's energy. For extended areas, balance the energy by using the Five Elements theory to weaken it.

By following these tips and incorporating the Feng Shui Bagua map on your floor plan, you can create a harmonious and balanced living space that promotes positive energy flow and well-being. Embrace the power of Feng Shui and transform your home into a sanctuary of tranquility and positivity.
